Gus and Bella box- Cats on Staycation review

My pampered puss Tara is very much part of the family and I love treating her to new toys and food. One really good way of treating Tara to something new is through pet subscription boxes as they often offer samples of food and toys that I wasn’t aware of. I’ve tried the Cattitude box in the past, but the Gus and Bella box was new to me.
Unlike most cat subscription boxes, the Gus and Bella box is a little different as it’s a box for cats and their owners. Contents vary each month, but you’re guaranteed to get 8-10 treats for you and your cat to enjoy each month. Cat food and toys can be expensive, so the subscription box is a good way of trying out new innovative cat toys, nutritious cat food, health products and cat treats. I’ve teamed up with Gus and Bella to try out their new Cats on Staycation box. Watch my video to see what’s inside:
Don’t want to wait? Here’s a sneak peek into what’s inside the box.
Nature’s Variety Free Range cat chicken biscuits
Nature’s Variety free range chicken biscuits is a completely natural cat food that contains only chicken, fruit and vegetables. The biscuits are grain free and looking at the ingredient list, I was amazed at how many good products there were inside. There are no artificial additives, and I’m pleased to say my cat absolutely loved them. The full sized product is a little pricey (for a big pack) but so worth it for a happy, healthy kitty.
Nature’s Variety chicken and goose wet cat food pouch
Like it’s biscuit counterpart, this wet food pouch contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. The chicken and goose pouch contains 60% of chicken, 10% of goose, minerals and salmon oil. It’s rare to see a cat food with so much meat product in it. Again the full sized product isn’t cheap, but it helps promote your cats health with all the goodness inside.
Beach ball cat nip toy
This high quality beach ball toy contains lots of cat nip for a smell sensation. My cat was quite interested in this one but didn’t play with it for too long.
Beco Crab cat nip toy
Like the beach ball, this crab is filled with pure cat nip. Normally my cat doesn’t show much interest in cat nip toys, but she absolutely loved the smell of this one and was all over it. Definitely a new favourite for Tara!
Nine Lives mini travel box
This small storage box is good for keeping small things like headphones, jewellery and even your favourite lipstick safe. The hard outside will stop any damage or you losing something small like a earring.
Cat themed thermal lunch box
Perfect for the warm weather that’s coming (hopefully!), this thermal lunch box will keep your food fresh. The box expands and is quite roomy so you could get a fair few sandwiches, crudités, fruit and other bits in there.
Cat themed hard lunch box
This lunchbox can’t expand like the thermal lunch box, but it has lots of handy hidden compartments so there’s plenty of room for your lunch and some treats. You’ll see in the video where you can find the extra compartments.
Cat themed hand sanitiser
What could be more apt in these current times then a hand sanitiser. It has a cute cat theme, and it’s refillable so when you run out you can refill it with your favourite hand sanitiser.
Vegantic Mallows
If you have a food allergy- whether it’s an aversion to gluten, lactose or you’re a vegan, these vegantic marshmallows are perfect for you. They are free of any ingredients that may irritate you and are super fluffy and tasty still.
Available in Holland and Barratt for £2.49
So that’s it for the May Gus and Bella box. This box had more treats for the human then the cat which I was surprised about, but I guess this probably changes depending on the theme of the box. I was really impressed with the items for Tara, especially the food and how good it is for her. I also love how she was such a fan of the crab cat nip toy.
Love the post? Don’t forget to give it a share on Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook.

My cat would love this! Can can be a bit fussy with treats though, but any toys she is down for haha!

Haha so is mine! Taras probably more fussy with toys though she gets bored so easily.
Hi Corrine – we do offer custom boxes too so we can swap out food/treats for more toys etc. If you order online there is the option to drop down to ‘my cat has food intolerances’ and then you can request this in the notes. Feel free to try us out 🙂
My cats would love the posh food. Tara is beautiful. We used to have a cat called Tara as well, did you know it means “star” in Sanskrit?
