Christmas shopping tips you’ll love for a stress free Christmas
We all know Christmas shopping can be a pain. Discover the Christmas shopping tips that will help you get back the joy into the festive season
If you’re not one of those super prepared people who got all their Christmas shopping done in July, you’ll probably need some Christmas shopping tips to keep you sane. So pull up a chair, grab a coffee and discover how you can add Christmas shopping queen to your list of achievements this year.
Leave early
There’s a real truth to the saying ‘the early bird gets the worm’. By leaving early you can avoid the stress of huge traffic jams around the town centre and that inevitable fight for a parking space. You’ll also get the satisfaction of finishing your shopping and heading home just as all the routes into town become gridlocked.
Make sure you set time aside to eat
All that shopping can really take it out of you so it’s important you keep your strength up. There are normally plenty of places to eat in shopping centre and towns, make sure you stop once you start to feel peckish for a bite to eat.
It’s all about the gift wrap
Around Christmas time, many shops offer a gift wrap service which is nearly always free of charge. Take advantage of this so you don’t have to spend your own time wrapping them.
Decide who you want to buy for
Instead of heading around the shops aimlessly trying to think who you need to buy presents for – write a list with names and gift ideas. You could even write down the shops you’ll find these gifts in. This way you’ll be able to get your shopping done quicker without wasting lots of time.
Set a spending limit for each person
If you haven’t set a spending limit, it can be very tempted to keep buying presents till you break the bank. Why not speak to each member of your family and set a spending limit – and stick to it. You could even suggest items which you’d like, that way you can buy presents safe in the knowledge they won’t be sold or regifted in a few days.
Christmas shopping tips you can’t miss – Take cash
Leave your debit and credit cards at home and only take the amount of cash you want to spend. This will work really well in helping you to keep to your spending limit as well as once the moneys gone you can’t buy anything else.
Avoid buying yourself gifts
All those lovely makeup and perfume gift sets may be very tempting but you’ve only got enough cash set aside for other people’s gifts. Avoid the temptation and treat yourself with a bar of chocolate when you get home.
Take advantage of discount stores
I can’t stress enough how much money you can save by shopping in discounts stores like Poundland and B&M. You’ll find some fabulous treats such as books and toys for low budget prices. You’ll save plenty of money which you can use for extra Christmas food or presents.
Shop online
One of the easiest ways to avoid Christmas shopping stress altogether is to do all your shopping online in the comfort of your own home. Surely you won’t get the same Christmassy feeling as you would on the high street, but you’ll feet will thank you. This is one of my favourite Christmas shopping tips!
I hope these Christmas shopping tips will take the stress out of your Christmas shopping. If you think your friends and family will love the post don’t forget to give it a share on Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook.
I hate crowds so do the majority of my Christmas shopping on-line. I start in the July sales as there are lots of great bargains to be had.
