Keep your cat healthy with Untamed cat food

Our furry friends health is important and the best way we can keep them healthy is through their diet. Whilst you may stick to buying well known brands like Whiskas and Felix for your cat, they may do more harm then good. A lot of popular cat food brands use grains to plump out the volume of the food and this can be unhealthy for your cat. Cats need a lot of protein in their diet – more then dogs- so food filled with grains like rice and vegetables won’t get them the essential taurine they need to stay healthy. Over time inadequate levels of taurine can lead to serious health conditions such as dilated cardiomyopathy. So what can you do I hear you ask? More and more home grown brands are now being created and these independent cat food brands eliminate all grains from their cat food. More protein in your cats food means they stay healthier for longer. I recently discovered Untamed cat food, a up and coming brand that has an amazing score of 4.9 on Trust Pilot. I recently got a new cat called Tommy and he loves his food. He was only too happy to put Untamed cat food to the test.
What type of food do Untamed cat food have available?
Untamed is a family run brand that uses recipes that were created in their own kitchen. They only use the best human grade cuts of tuna steak, salmon fillet and chicken breast that is steamed in its own juices for maximum flavour. Each recipe is packed with 2x more protein then the industry standard and they are vet approved. You also get a selection of finishes for example cat food in jelly or gravy. If you incorporate Untamed regularly into your cats diet, you should start to see the following benefits:
- Day one- the natural ingredients are easier to digest which means a cleaner litter box for you. Winner.
- Two months in- your cat should have more energy and be a lot more playful after having a high protein for over a month.
- Four months in- your cat should have a lovely shiny coat and have less hair balls
- Life time results: your cats weight should be a lot easier to control and the natural raw diet will help them stay healthy for longer.
Untamed sent me a box of mixed Untamed cat food for Tommy to try. Inside I found nine different varieties of food to try with different varieties of tuna, and chicken in finishes like jelly or gravy. Watch the video to discover what the food looks like:
You can find the names of the meals and the ingredients they contain below:
- Untamed Full on fishy in gravy (this contains tuna whole meat 45%, fish broth 3.3%, sardine 13%, mackerel 5%, tapioca, sunflower oil, vitamins and minerals.)- this looked just like real fish and I could even see big chunks of mackerel in the food. My cat lapped this one up and it was all gone in no time.
- Untamed Tuck in Tuna with Shrimp in jelly (this contains tuna whole meat 55%, fish broth, shrimp 5% and tapioca.) – this meal contains lots of tuna flakes with little tiny bits of shrimp amongst it. It smelled mostly like tuna and my cat really enjoyed it.
- Untamed Tuck in Tuna with Salmon in jelly (this contains tuna whole meat 55%, fish broth, salmon 5% and tapioca.)- this meal only contains 5% of salmon and it wasn’t really visible as the tuna dominated. The meal smelt very nice and my cat really enjoyed it.
- Untamed Tuck in Tuna in gravy (this contains tuna whole meat 63%, fish broth 3.3%, tapioca, sunflower oil, vitamins and minerals)- the gravy mixed in with the tuna makes this quite a moist meal. My cat loves tuna and even went back to lick the bowl when he was finished.
- Untamed Chocka Chicken in jelly (this contains chicken breast 60%, chicken broth and tapioca)- a lovely meal with lots of shredded chicken in. My cat really enjoyed it.
- Untamed Chocka Chicken with ham in gravy (this contains chicken breast 58%, chicken broth 33%, ham 5%, sunflower oil, tapioca, vitamins and minerals.)- this meal had a lovely mix of shredded chicken and small ham pieces. My cat was a big fun.
- Untamed Tuck in Tuna in jelly (this contains tuna whole meat 60%, fish broth and tapioca)- As this meal was coated in jelly it did need a good mixing as it still had a solid shape after taking it out the can. The tuna as always looked and smelled just like human tuna. My cat really enjoyed it.
- Untamed Chocka Chicken with Duck in jelly (this contains chicken breast 55%, chicken broth, duck 5% and tapioca)- this meal had lots of shredded chicken with small pieces of duck. My cat really enjoyed this and cleared his dish in no time.
- Untamed Tuck in Tuna with shrimp in gravy (this contains tuna whole meat 58%, fish broth 33%, shrimp 5%, tapioca, sunflower oil, vitamins and minerals.)- this meal has lots of real looking tuna and a little shrimp nestled amongst it. It looked and smelt lovely and my cat really enjoyed it.
So many mainstream cat food brands sell cat food that looks like brown mush with a smell to match. It’s so refreshing to be able to serve cat food to my cat that I could almost consider eating myself. You can sign up to a trial to Untamed cat food for £8.00 and a full plan costs £45.00 per month.
It is a little expensive but if you can afford it, it’s so worth it to keep your cat happy and healthy.

This looks great! My dogs are on raw food, I didn’t know you could get raw for cats too. The health benefits sound amazing – The only thing that would stop me is that she’s a very fussy cat
They’re pretty tasty, worth a try
Thanks for all the information. It’s a brand I hadn’t heard of before.
