How to get salon style nails in the comfort of your own home
When your budget is tight, it can be hard to find the money to get your nails done. I’ll help you get salon style nails at a fraction of the cost of the salon.
Have you ever found the perfect dress and heels but felt it was missing a little something? I’ve often found the perfect way to finish off a outfit is with a fresh set of nails. Whilst you could go to the salon to get your nails done, this can be quite pricey and isn’t really a option when you’ve got lots of bills to pay. Instead of feeling down about the thought of having to go out with plain nails, it’s time to get inventive. In my latest post I will show you how you can get salon style nails without having to leave your home. All you need to get your salon style nails is a hot red nail varnish and some pretty nail gems. You’ll get professional looking nails that cost virtually nothing, and you can repeat this in the comfort of your own home whenever moneys a bit tight. Ready to get started?
Step one
To avoid your nails getting stained, you may want to prepare your nails first with a nail varnish base coat. Apply to each of your nails and wait a few minutes for the base cost to dry. I used Nail Girls 3 in 1 base and top coat. It dries really quickly and I’m really impressed with the shine. I don’t think you can buy this particular product anymore, but there are lots of similar products available on Amazon.
Step two
Find one of your favourite red nail varnishes and paint several layers onto your nails, dependent of course on how thick the nail varnish formula is (you may only need one layer if the varnish is really thick). I used L’Oreal Color Riche nail varnish in Rouge Cancan 402. I love this nail varnish as it has such a lovely glossy finish. Allow the varnish to dry fully before you go any further (there’s nothing worse then smudged nails and having to start all over again!).
Step three
Next grab a nail varnish top coat and apply it to each nail. Whilst the top coat is still wet get some nail gems and apply gently to the top of each nail. You can find nail gems pretty much anywhere (try Amazon for starters) and they’re really cheap. Once you’re sure the top coat has tried, cover it with another coat of top coat to protect the gems from falling off. I used Andrea Fullerton nail boutique Gloss Up overcoat.
Now all you need to do is sit back and admire your perfect salon style nails. Next step is the bar!
