Nothing beats an arcade for whiling away a few hours, but you got to admit after a couple of machines it starts to get pretty darn expensive. So if you want unlimited fun, thrills and entertainment you need to visit Babylon Park, Camden.

Tell me more..

Babylon Park is an alien themed immersive underground theme park/ arcade set just off of busy Camden. It has two floors of entertainment, with much of the arcade machines and rides in the basement. As it’s underground it’s good for rain or shine, and you will still keep cool even on the hottest days.

What sort of things can you expect at Babylon Park?

The basement features pretty much everything you’d find your typical seaside arcade, with racing games, basketball, hoopla, VR experiences, teddy bear cranes, knock the ball down and so much more. My favourite has to be the sweet crane where you win sweets every time. You’ll also find rides such as London’s first indoor rollercoaster (you get to go around four times!), a drop ride, dodgems and a few kids rides.

The second floor hosts a few more arcade games, the café, kids indoor soft play, and party rooms.

There are toilets on each floor but you do have to scan a wristband to get in, so just bear this in mind if you need to go before your wrist band runs out.

How much does Babylon Park cost?

Babylon Park is amazingly good value, especially if you consider you’d probably pay £1 for each go on a machine. You can choose to buy tokens, but I highly recommend you purchase a time slot which will enable you to have unlimited goes on everything within that timeframe. For example one slot at 10am on a Tuesday cost £15, and it goes slightly up the more hours you add on.

For me and my mum for two hours it cost £60 at 12pm on a Tuesday. Whilst it may seem like the expensive option initially, when you consider each machine costs at least 5 tokens it’s the most cost effective way to have unlimited fun. With this option you can have as many games as you like, try to win as many teddies as you want and all the sweets you can eat. You can also ride to your hearts content during your time there.

You can win prizes too

A lot of the fairground style arcade games like hoopla have you the opportunity to win tokens. The tokens are electronic and go straight onto your wrist band so you don’t need to worry about carrying around hundreds of paper tickets. I won most of my tickets on a ticket crane where if the tickets fell into your pot you’d win- I think I got around 800 tickets from that alone.

Together my mum and I won 1,800 tickets which you could use to purchase items in the ticket store. The prizes were what you’d normally expect to see at an arcade- toys, mugs, a few gadgets and some sweets. I did feel the sweet selection was quite limited, but the prices of the other stuff wasn’t overly high. We went for a pink Love Hearts mugs and lots of gummy sweets. You can check out our stash below, I’ve also included the sweets I got from the sweet crane:

Babylon Park is a really fun place to go if you’ve got a team bonding session, you want somewhere fun to go with your family or a kids party. Hey you can even go on your own. It’s great value if you go for the unlimited sessions and there’s so many different games and rides you can play on. It’s also set in a great location so you can explore the sights once you’ve finished- the different designs on the shops are really eye catching.

  1. Sounds like great fun, a really cheaper alternative than the traditional arcades you’ll find
