A little midweek Christmas inspiration at Moonpig virtual event
I certainly got into the Christmas spirit with Moonpig virtual event. Discover a little of what Moonpig has to offer to help you make the most of Christmas this year
My typical Wednesday night normally consists of dinner, a good dose of the soaps and surfing the net- so when Moonpig invited me to their first virtual event I was super hyped. You probably all know Moonpig as the digital card site, where you can create unique personalised cards for your friends and family. However they’re more than just a site where you can create cards for people- they also sell flower arrangements, alcohol bottles and gift sets, chocolate, beauty products, candles, toys and so much more. As we’re only two months away from Christmas, the event was very much Christmas inspired. Discover how Moonpig can help you make the most of your Christmas this year.
The Moonpig app
If you don’t have access to a laptop or desktop, Moonpig have a really handy app- you can download it here. The app features everything on the website, and it’s really interactive and user friendly. The app even has a handy reminder section so you’ll never forget a birthday or important event again- you can even import important dates from your calendar (iOS only).

The homepage features cards aimed at different categories for example for her – for him so you don’t need to hunt around the right section. They’ve already created a really handy Christmas section so you can start getting prepared. Once you’ve chosen who you want to buy a card for, you can add images straight from your phone and even imagine it in real life with the AR feature. There’s also the opportunity to add a personalised touch by adding a handwritten note to your card. Unfortunately this feature is currently only available for iOS users.

If you want to add a gift for someone for Christmas just head to the browse section and head to gifts. The gifts section is handily broken down into different sections just like the cards, and you can even add a personalised touch to some of the items. To avoid having to remember different addresses each time you create a new card you can add them to your address book (iOS only again at the moment!). They are in the process of adding these features to Android so you won’t be left out for too long (hopefully!). If you’re sending lots of different items to lots of different people you can add a different address to each person and send it in the same order.
Getting down to the fun stuff at the Moonpig virtual event
Moonpigs virtual event had lots of treats in store for us that night. There was a fantastic set of interactive activities for all the attendees including flower arranging and cocktail making. It was set to be a super creative evening, and with food supplies courtesy of Just Eat I couldn’t wait to get started. Here’s a lowdown of the night.
Making cocktails with Moonpig
I’m not a huge drinker, but I do love a cocktail every now and again. Moonpig supplied all the ingredients including four lovely cocktail glasses so I could jump straight into the art of cocktail making. On the menu were Vodka Garden, Kiwi Collins and Xmas Espresso Martini. The star ingredient was Belvedere vodka, a unique blend from Poland. These cocktails are all new to me so I was certainly getting to try lots of new things at the event. Here’s how you can make them too:

How to:

- Pour your vodka shot in followed by the lime juice and sugar syrup.
- Add your mint and then churn your ingredients together to mix the flavours.
- Add the elderflower soda for a splash of fizz

Gingerbread Espresso Martini
This coffee flavoured cocktail will certainly get you into the Christmas spirit!

How to
- Add all of the ingredients to the shaker with lots of ice.
- Shake the ingredients well to create a thick head.

Making a pretty flower arrangement with Moonpig
Flowers are fantastic for cheering me up when I’ve had a bad day. The flower arrangement delivered from Moonpig featured some lovely roses as the centrepiece with little berries, and foliage to accessorise. The masterclass involved arranging the flowers in a oasis which is essential if you’re making a flower arrangement as it will help the flowers to last longer. The finished piece will look perfect in the centre of a table or on the sideboard. You can discover how to make your own flower arrangement with tips from Flower Moxie in this fabulous Youtube video.
I hope you enjoyed seeing what Moonpig has to offer for you this Christmas. Your friends and family will love the super personalised touch they get from their gifts this year.
