What can Maybelline Metallic lipstick kit do for you?
That glittery sparkly look is so in at Christmas, especially on lips and the new Maybelline Metallic lipstick kit is the perfect way to join in the trend. Available in 7 shades, the lip kits will get you a kissable pout in no time ready for that party
The Lowdown
Depending on the sort of look you want this festive season – you could take on a gothic look with the blue/black toned Labyrinth or take on Autumn’s berry shades with Nemesis.
The set comes with a liquid lipstick and a lipliner for a coordinated look. For my review I’m testing the lip kit in Scorpion. Maybelline Metallic lipstick kit in Scorpion has a really pretty pink metallic foil finish that would look great on a night out.
The lip liner glided on easily and it was quick to build up colour. It has a slightly different tone and finish to the lipstick so the colours do contrast slightly. When I applied the lipstick I found I had to go over the lip liner as the two didn’t quite look right together. The lipstick feels really comfortable to wear and is super pigmented so I didn’t need to build up the colour.
In terms of longevity the lipstick does not last that long – probably around 3 hours or so before it starts to fade. After eating and drinking the colour became faded and patchy and lost its intensity.
Maybelline Metallic lipstick kit is really pretty but be warned if you’re going to wear it and plan on doing more than looking pretty you’ll probably have to keep reapplying it.

Advantages
- Scorpion has a gorgeous metallic finish – perfect for the party season.
- Both the lipstick and lipliner glide on really easily.
- Colour builds up instantly.
- Comfortable to wear.
Disadvantages
- The shade of the lipliner and lipstick contrast slightly.
- Doesn’t last that long and fades very quickly after eating or drinking.
