Will Maybelline Lifter Gloss plump up your pout

Will Maybelline Lifter Gloss plump up your pout?

Will Maybelline Lifter Gloss plump up your pout

For many women big lips are seen as a sign of beauty and they often opt for lip fillers to get that to die for pout. However lip fillers are not permanent and if they’re done by a unqualified technician, they can cause a lot of problems. Luckily there are safer alternative out there such as plumping lip glosses. I do often wish I had bigger lips, so when I discovered Maybelline Lifter gloss I wanted to see if it could provide the same lip plumping effect.

Tell me more about Maybelline Lifter gloss.

Maybelline Lifter Gloss is available in 8 hot shades. It contains a cocktail of Maxi Lip, Chili pepper and Piment chilli to provide a heated sensation that will stimulate your lips and increase their size.

It claims to smooth lip lines and plump lips instantly with a long lasting effect.

If you want to see my first impressions of Maybelline Lifter gloss, and see the results in real time you can watch the video below:

I tried the shade Pink Sting which is a subtle light pink shade. I was expecting the pigment to be darker but it looked quite sheer when applied. Whilst the pink shade does not appear that bright, it does give my lips a slight pink tint.

The gloss has a glossy finish that isn’t sticky. It does have a slight odour which isn’t overly pleasant, but I didn’t notice it when applying the lipgloss.

I didn’t notice much effect at first but after a minute or two my lips started to tingle. A lot of people say they got a burning sensation from the gloss, but I can’t say I really noticed that. It may depend on your pain tolerance how the lipgloss feels to you. The tingling lasted for around 20 minutes, however it wasn’t particularly painful.

So does it work?

The lip gloss lasted a few hours before disappearing so it’s not massively long lasting. When I look at the before and after photo I can definitely see my lips look a lot fuller, especially my top lip which looks perkier then before. The gloss effect also helps my lips stand out a bit more.

Maybelline Lifter Gloss can provide a temporary plumping effect to your lips that can give your mood a boost when you’re heading out with the girls or want a bit of extra confidence when you’re trying something new.

Styling tip- As the gloss does not have a lot of pigment, you can layer it on top of your lipstick to get the best of both worlds.

I give it:

Have you tried Maybelline Lifter gloss? If so what did you think of it? Let me know in the comments.

  1. An interesting read. Thank you. There are quite a few of these products on the market and I’ve tried a few of them, but not this one. They vary in performance and longevity but I prefer to reapply temporary products like these instead of injecting fillers.
