How to dress like a millionaire (on a Primark budget)
Who doesn’t dream of winning the lottery? Not only can you go on all the holidays you want and buy the property of your dreams, you can also dress like a Queen (or king). But what do you do until you get that winning ticket? They say fake it until you make it, and until you get that winning lottery ticket, I’ll show you how to dress like a millionaire.
The importance of grooming
Who’s ever seen a millionaire with a untucked shirt and smudged lipstick? Millionaires pretty much always look real groomed and like they’ve just stepped off a catwalk. You don’t need to do anything you wouldn’t do normally, just keep your lipstick topped up (if you wear it) and your shirt tucked in.
If you want to dress like a millionaire avoid the scruffy look
Scratched bags, scuffed shoes or clothes with dirt on never go down well. If you want to dress like a millionaire make sure your outfit is free of any obvious blemishes that make you look scruffy.
Wear fashionable sunglasses
Whether you’re a celebrity or millionaire, over sized sunglasses are a real status symbol and show you’ve made it. Oversized sunglasses also make you look more attractive as they make your face look more symmetrical. So even if you have a wonky nose those sunnies will help to draw attention away from that area.

Invest in great shoes and bags if you want to dress like a millionaire
Have you ever looked at someone and thought those shoes or that bag look simply amazing? Expensive shoes and bags can really improve how you look, even if the rest of your outfit is from Primark. Not sure what kind to buy? Look for bags or shoes with square lines that are made out of real leather. Avoid fake leather at all costs, anyone who knows their stuff will be able to tell it’s fake in a instant
Avoid the nail art
Millionaires often go for a fairly consistent look, whether it’s the style of the clothes they’re wearing or their makeup. That consistency should be applied to your nails as well. A nice French manicure screams well groomed and looked after, a tiger nail art not so much.
Buy an expensive perfume
The way you smell is often the first thing someone may notice about you. Expensive perfumes from brands like Dior and Chanel certainly won’t break the bank but they still scream status.
It’s all about the pearls darling. Tres chic!
Many millionaires invest in expensive jewellery, and often less means more. Whilst you don’t need to spend a fortune, investing in quality looking pearl jewellery is essential if you want to dress like a millionaire. Just look at Angelina Jolie and Kate Middleton for examples. Team it up with a little black dress and heels and you’re ready to go.
Wear a blazer
Blazers scream status, and you’ll look even posher if you wear it teamed with a turtle neck.
Make sure your clothes fit properly
When dressing to look like a millionaire, make sure your clothes fit properly. Baggy tops or saggy trousers suggest you don’t have the money to buy decent clothes that suit you.

Invest in a posh watch if you want to dress like a millionaire
Okay, so you don’t need to go as far as buying a Rolex, but a quality watch will demonstrate to others you have money to spare. You can buy some really nice watches for a couple of hundred pounds from brands like Armani.
Keep your hair clean and tidy
Whether you like to keep your hair straight or curly, keep it as clean and tidy to look like the status symbol you want to be. If your hair is a little fly away, kerby grips and hair spray will be your new best friend.
So I hope these tips help you dress like a millionaire until you really become one. To help you on your way, why not check out The National Lottery. With six games to pick from (plus online scratchcards) there’s so much opportunity to get lucky. Who knows that next draw may be the one you win big.

Great tips! I tend to just wear a blazer when I want to look a bit posh! I don’t usually bother with bags as I just shove everything in the pram. haha.
