The beauty sphere is full of so many exciting beauty releases and there can often be a desire to try everything. Whilst it’s fun to try a new eyeshadow palette or foundation, it’s important never to forget the beauty basics that you rely on every day. Whilst they may sound dull, those beauty basics are what helps your skin look great and leave you smelling amazing. Here’s some of my favourite beauty basics.

The beauty basics I can’t live without moisturiser is essential

Moisturiser

Moisturiser is essential for keeping dry skin at bay and your skin hydrated. You can get different moisturisers to suit your needs and the season, so you don’t need to stick to the same one all year round. My skins normally okay but has recently been going through a stage where I get patches of dry skin. In the morning I use Palmers Coconut Water moisturiser which contains their famous cocoa oil formula. At night I’ve been using Aveeno moisturising cream which contains Colloidal oat cream to help reduce dry skin. It’s working wonders I’m certainly impressed!

Vaseline

I can’t stress the importance of Vaseline. It’s dirt cheap but has so many beauty benefits. I like to use Vaseline on stubborn dry skin patches.

Sure Uplifting & fresh antiperspirant deodorant stops odour in it’s tracks

Deodorant

Deodorant not only stops sweat in its tracks, but it can give you the confidence to face the world knowing you’ll always smell great. Make sure you invest in a deodorant that really works, I’m a big fan of Sure Uplifting & Fresh antiperspirant deodorant.

Shower gel

When I’m having a bath I prefer to use shower gel over soap as it’s a lot easier to get a good lather all over. I adore the fruity uplifting scents as they really help to invigorate my senses.

soap story soap is a must have for basic skin care

Soap

Soap is one of those beauty basics that isn’t overly exciting but you could never live without it. I tend to avoid the big branded soaps as I find their scent is quite boring. The Range sell a fabulous collection of handmade soaps from The Soap Story. The soaps comes in scents like Peach Prosecco and Tropical Mango. The smell of these soaps are gorgeous and they envelop your senses even when they’re still in their wrapper. I can promise you they will make your bathroom smell like a tropical paradise.

Shampoo and conditioner

Like soap and shower gel I couldn’t live without shampoo and conditioner. Shampoo and conditioner is one of those beauty basics essentials as they remove the dirt from your hair and help to keep it looking healthy. My hair is generally pretty healthy but I like to give it a helping hand with a bit of extra hydration. Herbal Essences Bio:Oil Renew Argan oil vegan hydrating shampoo and conditioner has a lovely scent and doesn’t irritate my scalp. My hair is left feeling soft with a lovely shine.

makeup wipes

Makeup wipes

I’ve always found makeup wipes are the most convenient way to remove my makeup. Unlike with cleanser I don’t need a sink to remove my makeup and I can take them anywhere.

Razors

When it comes to hair removal I would say shaving is the number one method for me. It’s cheap, relatively quick and mostly pain free. You also don’t have to wait for your hair to get really long like you do with waxing. I always feel great after a defuzzing session which really boots my confidence.

the importance of cleanser

Cleanser

I think it’s so important to have a good skincare routine and cleanser is an important part of that. Cleansing helps to get rid of any dirt and dead skin cells which if left can clog pores and lead to spots. If you have sensitive skin you can buy non foaming cleansers that don’t irritate the skin.

Magnesium sulfate paste

A little while ago I discovered the wonder that is magnesium sulfate paste. This completely natural product is fantastic at helping to treat spots and boils as it tackles the infection by drying them out. It’s not expensive and a little pot will last you ages.

I hope you enjoyed finding out about my essential beauty basics. What basic beauty product could you say you could never live without? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
