I’ve tried so many mascaras over the years the promise a real false lash effect, and whilst some don’t do too badly, I wouldn’t say the false lash effect was really that evident. That is until I tried Benefit Fan Fest mascara.

Before I buy anything I always check out the reviews, and let me tell you they were glowing for this mascara. Whilst sometimes the review don’t often reflect reality, I had a pretty good feeling about this mascara.

Benefit Fan Fest mascara has a plastic bristle brush with a curved design that perfectly captures the natural angle of my lashes. The brush is just the right length and I found it easy to coat all my lashes in one swipe. I did have to go over the very end lashes as the brush couldn’t quite reach them, but that wasn’t an issue.

The formula is perfect and there was no gloopiness or clumping. It contains naturally derived flex wax fibres to help grab lashes and separate them evenly. After just one swipe my lashes started looking a lot more volumised and well defined. My lashes looked lifted and even had a slight curl to them which is pretty rare for me.

I don’t know about you but I have one eye that mascara never seems visible on, especially in photo. With Fan Fest that problem is eliminated and you can even see mascara showing up on that eye in photos.

The mascara is comfortable to wear, and it doesn’t flake around my eyes once dry. There was no smudging and no flaking. Once applied it stays put all day.

So what did I think of Benefit Fan Fest Fanning and Volumising mascara?

I was really impressed with Benefit Fan Fest mascara. My lashes looked volumised, defined and curly. It really helped define my eyes and my lashes didn’t lose their lift all day. I could honestly say it looked like I was wearing a natural pair of false lashes. At it’s not the cheapest of mascaras, but I would say it’s definitely worth the splurge if you want a mascara that does what it claims to do.
