5 walking apps that pay you to keep fit
Love walking and keeping fit? Want to get rewarded for it? Well you can! There’s 5 apps that pay you to walk, meaning you can get rewarded for staying healthy. I’m going to be showcasing 5 of the most popular walking apps, how easy it is to cash out and let you know my personal favourite.
WeWard app
If you’re looking for a walking app that doesn’t take long to earn rewards, WeWard is probably the best of the bunch. Once you reach 3000 points as a standard user you can cash out £15.
The points required to cash out increase as the reward increases. If you don’t fancy cash you can also purchase high street vouchers, premium users can cash out with less points. You can earn up to 25 wards walking 20,000 steps a day, but there are plenty of other ways to earn bonus points.
Bonus ways to earn points on WeWard app
- Spin the wheel for rewards. You could win WeWards or even a card pack.
- Download and play games
- Purchase things through the app and get WeWards as cashback
- Refer friends- sign up under my link and get 150 WeWards once you’ve registered Complete surveys
- Complete card sets
- Complete challenges- some as simple as opening the app at lunchtime
Cashwalk app
If you enjoy walking, but rarely hit 10,000 steps a day, Cashwalk probably isn’t the right waking app for you.
If you walk 10,000 steps a day you can earn 100 points, and you can only cash out a £5 voucher once you hit 50,000 points.
However if you regular walk over 10,000 steps you can see the target as a motivator to get a reward for all the efforts you put in to stay healthy.
Bonus ways to earn points on Cashwalk
- Walk a certain amount of steps and you’ll get to open a lucky box. Inside could be anything up to 10,000 points (albeit very unlikely)! You do have to watch a ad every time though which is pretty annoying.
- Complete offers
- Play games
- Scratch the scratch card. You’ll get 3 free goes before you have to watch an ad for more scratches
- Challenges- Take part in challenges such as the Home Workout or Star Gazing challenge and earn 500 points for each one you complete
- Refer friends- you can get points for signing up and checking in every day by signing up through my link.
Macadam app
Running a marathon any time soon? If so Macadam will reward you for every step. You can walk up to 45,000 steps a day to earn the maximum 270 points. Of course you don’t need to walk that far and you’ll get rewarded for taking as little as 2500 steps.
You can cash out your rewards according to your level- bronze, silver or gold. To cash out £20 on the bronze level you need 45,000 points. It does say there’s a waiting period for the lowest reward but none of the other rewards seemed to have a waiting period. You can choose cash rewards, buy items from the Macadam gift shop or buy select vouchers.
To put into perspective as to how easy it is to cash out, I’ve been a very casual user and have 1,643 points.
Extra ways to earn points on the Macadam app
- Play games
- Answer surveys
- Complete challenges- walk virtually around the world through exciting locations like Paris or Mount St Michel for extra points
- Refer a friend – get 1000 points when you sign up with my link
- Pick up extra points as you walk around. Click on the coins on the app to earn
Moneywalk app
Moneywalk will reward you for walking up to 5000 steps a day and pays 1 point per every 30 steps you take.
Unlike the other apps it also pays you points whilst you sleep. You set your sleep and wake up time and you can earn points for up to 6 hours. If you try to use the app during your sleep time you’ll lose your points, so it’s a good way to try and stay off your phone. You’ll need to claim your sleep points by 12pm or you’ll lose them for good.
The cash out level for rewards is relatively high but not impossible, so if you’re a regular walker you shouldn’t have too many issues. You can cash out £4 once you hit 10,200 points. Rewards seem to be a mixture of vouchers or MasterCard gift cards, there doesn’t seem to be a cash option.
Moneywalk seems much more aimed at thinking about all aspects of your health, rather than just walking. For example it focuses on mindfulness exercises, monitoring how much water you’re drinking or other exercise you can partake in.
Extra ways to earn points on the Moneywalk app
- Regularly log how much water you’re drinking or meals you’re eating
- Refer a friend- sign up under my link and instantly earn 100 points
- Grow a Money Farm- wish we could do this in real life!
- Take part in the daily quiz
Stepmate app
It’s not overly clear how many points you can earn for you steps a day, but seemingly the more you do the more energy you get which gets you more points.
Rewards are mostly gift cards, but there are a few products you can purchase such as headphones or a Stanley Flip Straw 2.0. The lowest reward is for £7 and costs 18,149 points. I’ve been using it for a few days and have 169.13 points so it may take a few months or more to cash out, depending on how active you are.
Extra ways to earn points on Stepmate
- Click on the gift boxes to see if you’ve won any points
- After signing up you can watch videos to win 1200 points as a welcome gift
- Complete surveys
- Complete challenges and earn points once they’re complete. For example walk and track to win 30 points or use everyday for a week to earn 160 points. You can’t claim till you’ve watched several videos though so maybe something to do whilst you’re watching TV
- Refer friends – download the app, enter my code AkUH2Xst and earn 10 points on your first step conversion. You’ll also get 500 points once you hit 5000 points.
Walking apps are a great way to earn rewards for keeping fit and staying healthy. Most of these walking apps will produce the most rewards for someone who walks often, albeit even for a seasoned walker you may find it tricky to cash out on apps like Cashwalk.
The other walking apps are a little easier, and WeWard seems the best in my opinion for even the most casual walker. There are ads at every corner if you want to earn more on these apps, but you can just watch a video in your downtime so it shouldn’t be too tricky.
If you needed a message to start getting fit then I’d say being paid to is a pretty good motivator.
Have you tried many of the walking apps? Are you a fan? Let me know what you think- good or bad- in the comments.
If your friends and family will love to know more about how they can get paid to keep fit with these walking apps please give the post a share on X, Facebook and Pinterest.
