When it comes to my hair care routine, I keep things pretty simple. Up until recently I had only ever used the Moroccanoil Treatment Oil, but due to its hefty price tag I have been looking for an alternative, budget-friendly option.

Whilst overseas, I purchased a new hair oil from a brand that I know and trust and while it was “nice,” it didn’t live up to the standards I have come to expect from a hair oil. Enter the new TRESemmé Oil Elixir…

Before I start singing its praises, I should probably point out that I’m not a loyal TRESemmé fan, however this hair oil is the exception! Everything about this hair oil is perfect. The packaging is simple yet beautiful and the fact that the bottle is glass certainly makes it appear more expensive than it really is.

Unlike the hair oil that I am used to, this formula is lightweight and absorbs into my hair instantly, leaving it feeling soft and smelling amazing! I have been using the oil for the last two weeks and I can definitely notice a difference in the smoothness of the hair.

With so much promise I was keen to try the Oil Elixir to see if it really lived up to the hype. Firstly the oil has a amazing smell that left my hair smelling absolutely gorgeous. I used the oil after washing my hair with just shampoo and conditioner and rubbed it into damp hair mainly through the lengths and ends of the hair. After drying I curled my hair and found the straighteners went through my hair without any resistance and curled really easily. My hair was really soft and the curls were bouncy with a real shine that I don’t often get with other hair products.
