Reduce the cost of your mobile with Airtime Rewards

Say bye bye to sky high mobile phone bills with the Airtime Rewards app

Smartphones are a fantastic way of keeping connected to the world wherever you are. However whilst it’s great to always have the latest technology, you know whatever phone you have, new handsets don’t come cheap. That’s why I was super chuffed to discover the Airtime Rewards app recently. Whilst I am only on a sim only contract, if I could pay less for my contract I would happily take advantage of all Airtime Rewards has to offer.

What does the Airtime Rewards app do?

Put quite simply it’s an app that helps to reduce the monthly cost of your phone contract. The premise of it is incredibly similar to cashback sites like TopCashback and Quidco. You connect the app up to your debit card and then spend as you would normally. Unlike the cashback sites you don’t need to shop online which I think is a massive benefit as I often lose out on cashback when shopping in stores. If you want to shop online you will of course still benefit from cashback if the retailer includes online shopping in its terms.

How do I benefit from the Airtime Rewards app?

Every time you shop in stores that are affiliated with the app you will earn cashback. The cashback percentage depends on the store and what they’re offering at the time. At the moment offers include 3.5% cashback on purchases at Primark, 5% at Topshop, 5% at Boots, up to 4% at Byron Hamburgers and lots more.

How do I set up the app?

First head here to download the app. Next you’ll need to register, insert your mobile number and your network provider. Once you’ve got your phone number connected you just need to link up a debit or credit card that you use the most often. After that you’re all set and you can start shopping as you would normally. You will be notified by the app when your transactions are confirmed.

When do I get my cashback?

You need to have a minimum of £10 cashback before you can put it towards reducing the cost of your monthly phone bill. As you can see in the picture above your cashback will be pending for at least 35 days before it turns payable. This is just to cover the retailers back in case you return the product. You can set it up to cover the cost of your bill, for example if you pay £50.00 a month simply set the amount you want to redeem to £50.00. After you’ve redeemed your reward the money will go straight to your network handler and will be taken off your monthly bill (or clear it completely!). Rewards will normally show up on your phone bill after 24 hours.
