Get a second skin finish with Max Factor Miracle Second Skin foundation
If you want coverage without the heavy feeling you get with a lot of foundations, you’ll love the new Max Factor Miracle Second Skin foundation
Every winter I like to review my makeup bag and ditch the products that no longer flatter me. Until recently I have been using Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation, whilst it’s good for giving me a fresh faced look, I found it didn’t blend very well with my favourite Tarte Shape Tape concealer (the only one I’ve found that has any impact!). So the other day after trawling Boots online and weeding out various foundations I found the newly released Max Factor Miracle Second Skin Hydrate Protect Renew foundation.
Max Factor Miracle Second Skin Hydrate Protect Renew foundation has a unique hybrid formula that has been created with naturally derived coconut milk. The foundation uses pre and probiotics to care for your skin whilst keeping you looking great. The formula will work with your skin to stimulate cell turn over and boost your skins natural defences. It’s available in 13 shades so whilst it’s not a huge colour palette; it’s pretty good for a high street brand.
The formula is really light and one layer is definitely not enough for decent coverage. The foundation is however buildable and you can apply layers whilst maintaining a natural look. It’s easy to blend and the formula feels really hydrating. After applying several layers my face looked really fresh with a slight glow. The foundation shade was quite a good match and I didn’t notice any tide marks. I also felt it was a fairly good shade match with my Tarte concealer which was a bonus. I’ve got quite fair skin and shade did warm up my skin without making me look orange. Discover what the foundation looks like before you buy to see if it’s for you in my latest video:
Over the course of the day most foundations tend to dry out, especially around and on my nose. Max Factor Miracle Second Skin foundation left the area around my nose looking just a ‘tiny’ bit dried out, but only if you looked really close. Overall my foundation was still looking great well into the evening and I can’t see that my coverage has slipped much. I did use NYX #Nofilter powder and NYX Dewy finish spray to set my makeup, but my makeup normally disappears by midday even when I do use those products.
I give it 4/5
