The top eyeshadow palettes to try in 2023

There are so many eyeshadow palettes on sale, sometimes it can be hard to find the right one for you. Whether it’s a part of your everyday look or you use eyeshadow on a special occasion, having the perfect palette on hand is the confidence boost you need.

Whether you prefer bold and bright colours, neutral or natural, shimmery or matte, eyeshadows can be a minefield. However when you find the right eyeshadow palettes you know you can trust them to provide eyeshadow looks you love, time and time again. In this post you’ll find a guide detailing some of the best eyeshadow palettes that money can buy. Here are the top eyeshadow palettes to try in 2023.

What to consider when you’re looking for the perfect eyeshadow palette

The beauty of finding the perfect eyeshadow palette, is that it both compliments your makeup and fits you personalised look. Makeup does more for you than make you look good — about 57.8 million adults live with mental illness and doing makeup can be an outlet to soothe the mind.

There’s a lot to consider before spending your hard-earned money. Consider the price, quality, versatility, finishes and if it complements your skin tone.

Versatility

Eyeshadow palettes are designed so you can try multiple types of looks. You can use them for a soft look or create a dark, smokey eye. Many palettes feature a range of colours, but if you tend to stick with a particular look like neutrals, there are palettes full of gorgeous neutral shades. Whether you love bold colours or shimmer pigments, choose one with an array of options to continue experimenting with your look.

Quality

Getting a quality eyeshadow is essential since the way the finishes lay on your skin can make or break if you will use them. Specific formulas work better with other skin types, but the ultimate goal is to get the most pigment with little fallout. Having an eyeshadow that fades makes you question why you even put it on for the day. Quality ensures you get the most out of what you buy.

Colour

Before you head out the door and grab the first eyeshadow palette you see, determine the purpose. Find shades that minimally elevate your natural skin tone if you want an everyday look. Neutral, matte colours are typically flattering on all skin. If you’re looking for something fun to play around with, your kid’s play palettes may inspire you while you improve their motor skills and creativity as early as 12 to 28 months old.

  1. I don’t wear eyeshadow but my Mum wears it daily. She would love some of these eyeshadow palettes so you’ve given me some excellent ideas for birthday and Christmas gifts for her.

  2. Eye palettes are a minefield, there’s so many out there. I love my urban decay nude palette the best

  3. I never used to believe that make up can improve one’s confidence, but since I’ve been experimenting with make-up, especially eyeshadows, I do feel my confidence has improved. I think it’s because eyes can be very expressive, it can show how much a person has aged and it can show how tired someone looks and when you look in the mirror and see yourself, it can make you feel quite low. So to be able to add a bit of colour in that area, make your eyes stand out in a more positive way, you yourself can be feel more confident too.

I tend to like bolder colours around my eyes and it took me a while to be brave enough to do so because a lot of people I know tend to use nude colours. But since I’ve been researching more into how to apply make up and seeing more people use colours than the average brown, pink and beige colours, it has gave me the confidence to try more vivid colours, such as greens and sapphires and purples. So definitely buy a pallet that suits you rather than what everyone else is buying.

  4. What is the best non greasy primer ,for eyes only and is purple to bright to use on the over fifty’s?
