How expensive is Switzerland to visit

Last year I won a trip to Switzerland with Fred Holidays. The trip included everything bar food and drink (asides from breakfast) and I wanted to show you all how expensive is Switzerland to visit. Switzerland is considered the most expensive country in Europe so expect the total to be pretty high. I had budgeted around £500 for the week, let’s see if it goes over that!

The amounts are listed in pounds as that’s how it shows on my Chase account.

So how expensive is Switzerland to visit? The answer is very. In total I spent £509.76 on food and one excursion in a week. I didn’t include the cost of taxis as we paid for these in cash, but these came to an extra £100.00. Obviously you will find some places are pricier then others, make sure you avoid the hotel restaurants if you want to eat cheaply. Luckily we got our accommodation, travel and most of the excursions for free or we’d probably be looking at a cost of £3k+!

However don’t let the cost put you off, Switzerland is an incredibly beautiful country and is well worth visiting for the alps alone.
