Canva is a mostly free tool that has hundreds of templates available for you to use on your blog. Whether you need a template for Facebook, Twitter or even a book cover they’ve got you covered. The best template to use for your media kit is the resume design. Like your cv it’s designed to sell you and your blog and is quick to read and understand.

What do I need to include on my media kit?

As your media kit is your little space to sell yourself you want to sum up what’s great about you in a few concise statements. You don’t want to waffle as you may forget something important.

You will need to include your name, how long you’ve been blogging and a little bit about you and your personality.

In this section you should talk about when your blog was established, what sort of genre you fit into and what makes you unique amongst the sea of bloggers out there. Don’t forget to mention if you have any awards or claims to fame!

It’s really useful to sum up vital traffic statistics related to your blog and any significant social media reach. On mine I mention my reach on Pinterest, my YouTube viewership, unique visitors and monthly page views.

Now you’ve summed up your major selling points you’ll want to tell your contact how you can work together. Whether it’s placing a ad, working on a sponsored post or even a speech at a event make sure you list it all in your media kit.

Many people keep coming back to a blog because they love the bloggers sense of humour and writing style. Let a little of your personality shine through and put a smiley photo onto your media kit. I also like to put previous brands I’ve worked with so people know I’m amenable and can work with lots of different companies on different collaborations.
