Holiday season is in full swing and whether you’re heading to Barbados or Benidorm it’s vital that you pack the right travel essentials. So what sort of things should you be packing? Whilst things like your passport and travel insurance are definite must haves it’s important to consider everything from beauty to medicine so you can make the most of your holiday. Here’s some of the essentials you won’t want to miss.
Suncream and aftersun
We all dream about lots of sun, sea and sangria when we’re abroad and it’s important that we take care of our skin when the temperature heats up. Make sure you take a SPF of at least 30 to protect your skin and always apply it whether you’re in or out the water. If you’re unfortunate enough to get burned (which lets face it will probably happen) after sun is your saving grace. It will help soothe any nasty burns and relieve any pain.
Travel sized toiletries
Don’t you hate the whole 100ml liquid limit? To avoid losing any of your toiletries (especially if you’ve only got hand luggage) make sure you buy the travel sized products that are all under 100ml. You’ll have more space in your suitcase and that’s one less thing to worry about!
As tempting as it is to take everything you own you really won’t need it. Makeup often melts in high heats so try to stick to the basics during the day. A good CC cream or light foundation will provide a good base whilst a waterproof mascara will frame your eyes. Don’t forget a tinted lip balm with SPF to protect the delicate skin on your lips from the sun. In the evening the weather cools so your makeup will stay put. To save space in your suitcase pack dual beauty products like Nip + Fab Exclusive Black Friday kit (£37.00). go for eyeshadow colours like gold and bronze that will compliment your warmer complexion and don’t forget the highlighter.
Whilst no one wants to get ill abroad, unfortunately it happens. avoid the sinking feeling you’ll get when you eat something dodgy and realise there’s not a pharmacy for miles by packing smartly. Vital medicines include:
- Allergy tablets
Hair removal tools
Whilst it would be great that hair growth could take a holiday when we do, sadly that will never happen. To avoid the dreaded leg stubble and hairy pits don’t forget to take some wax or even a razor so you can shave as you go.
They say fake it till you make it for a reason. If you don’t want your milk bottle legs to stand out amongst the bronzed bodies why not start off with fake tan. You can get fake tan enriched with SPF so you can still protect your skin whilst looking golden and glowing.
