As the teenage favourite Seventeen takes its final bow a new more trendy brand is ready to take its place. CYO (Call Your Own) is a budget friendly brand that designs makeup with the desires of its core market (you) in mind. Originally established across the pond, CYO prides itself on creating products that are versatile and cruelty free. They have a big focus on products that can be used for a multitude of things like eyeshadows as highlighters and liquid blushers as lip tints. It’s all about the #mixlayerhack ladies. After discovering CYO was now on sale online in Boots I had to get my hands on a few items. Here’s what I bought in my mini haul.
CYO Lip And cheek stain
The Lip and Cheek stain is currently available in two shades Here All Day and Stopout. Here All Day is the shade I bought and is a really bright vibrant pink. It does appear a little more subdued on the website so I’m hoping it does blend out a bit as it seems a little bright. Stopout is more of a vampy dark red shade.
CYO Long Lasting Foundation in Lifeproof
I’ve only recently bought a new foundation but I’ve heard really good reviews about this so had to snap it up (can never have too many right?). The foundation has medium coverage and claims to feel light on the skin whilst avoiding that cakey finish we all hate. Available in 15 shades it promises to be smudge and transfer free. At £7.50 it’s budget friendly and claims to perform as well as a pricier brand like Mac. Whilst I haven’t tried it yet I’m excited to see if it can live up to its bold claims.
CYO Matte Lot of Good matte lipsticks
Unlike a lot of matte lipsticks that can be very drying, CYO Matte Lot of Good has a highly moisturising formula with intense pigmentation for a vibrant finish. There are currently 9 shades available online including nude shades like Cold Brew, girly pinks like Home Time and the bright coral red Stage Dive. Whilst there’s not a huge selection of shades you’ll probably find something from every colour group from nudes to vampy. The lipsticks also have a lovely cherry and vanilla fragrance. Out of the shades I picked Stage Dive (bright red) and Cold Brew (light orange). Whilst Cold Brew looks fine I was a little disappointed to see Stage Dive looked a little blemished on the top of the bullet. I’ll keep you tuned and let you know if the lipsticks can provide both colour and moisture.
Have you tried out CYO yet? If so what did you buy and are you a fan? Do let me know in the comments box below!
