The latest brow product to hit my mat was Smashbox Brow Tech to Go. It’s a 2 in 1 pencil that combines colour with a finishing clear gel. An extension of their popular Brow Tech shaping range, the handy new shape pencil means it’s easy to apply on the go. On one end of the pen is a angled pencil for accurate shaping and on the other gel that will keep the colour and shape in place on my brows. There are four shades available; dark brown, blonde, brunette and taupe. The formula includes vitamins c and e in addition to jojoba so it’s great for the skin.
For a long time I’ve been using Primark 3 in 1 Brow pencil. The pencil is great value and does a great job but is slightly too light for my brow colour and leaves a obvious mark where I try to extend my brow. I’m reviewing Smashbox Brow Tech to Go in the shade Brunette. The shade is a almost identical match to my brow colour and I didn’t notice anything that looked out of place when I ‘extended’ my brow. After I shaped my brows and filled in the gaps I used the gel to fix them in place. I love the finish and how natural my brows looked after I used it.
When it got warm I found that the pencil started to sweat and it faded away where I had extended my brow. This obviously gave a slightly misshapen look to my brow so I found this was a little disappointing.
I do like how great a colour match Smashbox Brow Tech is and how natural my brows looked after use. It’s not really sweat proof which lets it down a little but will probably be fine if you’re not extending your brow. The shade range isn’t huge but has pretty similar shade options to other products available on the market.
I give it 3/5
