When it comes to food I’m pretty picky. Whilst some people are more than happy to indulge at the nearest Chinese i’m a little more selective with my cuisine. So what ticks the boxes when it comes to eating out for me? Here’s some of my favourite places to eat.
I do love a good Italian and Zizzis really hits the mark. I really believe you can be hit or miss with pasta but Zizzis never seem to get it wrong. My favourite dishes have to be Pollo Prosciutto and Spaghetti Bolognese. The garlic dough balls really hit the spot too!
The Green Man
The Green Man is part of the Vintage Inns brand and is based in Longfield Kent. I was invited to try their full menu out not long after Christmas and I was pretty impressed. They have a selection of pub favourites and I loved how tasty the homemade soup was. The steak was pretty good too and the triple cooked chips had a real crunch.
My cousin got married in Plymouth recently and we stayed in the delightful village of Sparkwell. It was tiny with one school, one town hall, one hotel, one pub etc and I have to admit we did get a little lost at one point (all those winding country roads!). On the night before we left we tried out the gastro pub the Treby Arms which is owned by the winner of Masterchef. There was a roaring fire which was most welcomed on a cold rainy night. I ordered the pork which had a Michelin star finish whilst my mum ordered fish and chips. The food was flavoursome and the chips were out of this world. If you’re ever in the village you need to give it a try!
Outside of Mcdonalds and Burger King there’s not many places where I would choose to eat a burger. GBK burger however has a real unique taste that makes me pick it over any other restaurant. A bad burger always leaves me bloated but I always feel good after eating at GBK burger! The menu is pretty varied with everything from standard burgers to all you can eat daddy burgers and even a gluten free menu.
