On Wednesday I attended the creme de la creme of the award ceremonies for the beauty industry – the Johnson’s beauty awards.
Now in its 14th year the awards were held at the luxurious Park Plaza hotel in Westminster. Beauty journalists, influencers and editors gathered to see who would be crowned the beauty elite.
The room was styled in Johnson’s signature red colouring and even had a unique Johnson’s beauty showroom.
The event started at 6.30 but the awards didn’t begin until 7.30 so there was plenty of time for networking. There were salmon canapés and hor d’oeuvres being offered to tickle the appetite, but unfortunately I’m not really a fan.
The awards were presented over 12 categories for both health and beauty in digital and print platforms. Categories included Beauty Beauty News, Best Beauty Feature, Best Beauty Blogger, Best Beauty News, Best Beauty Team, Best Healthcare/Trade Feature, Best Healthcare/Trade news, Best Beauty youtuber, Social Media Star, Rising Star and Lifetime Achievement. A lot of well known names from the beauty industry won a gong including Fleur de Force for best youtuber and Carly Musleh (Beauty Sace) for best beauty blogger.
After the awards Johnson’s opened their beauty showroom for all attendees to explore. You may not realise that the Johnson’s brand encompasses a wide range of products we find in our home including brands like Listerine, Neutrogena Aveeno, Clean and Clear, Regain, Piz Buin And Aveeno Baby. The showroom was notably bright and showed their best products off in all their glory. As part of the event there was a beauty checklist you could fill in to get a beauty bag designed to suit you and your body. With questions such as are you looking for clear skin or brighter teeth they created a unique bag to take away. I was looking for products that would keep my skin clear, whiten my teeth and make me feel great. Inside my bag was:
- Listerine Advanced White Mouthwash
- Johnson’s Baby oil
- Johnson’s Makeup Be Gone pampering wipes
- Neutrogena hand cream
- Johnsons Baby shampoo
- Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit daily scrub
- Neutrogena Hydro Boost eye
- Neutrogena Hydro Boost capsule in serum supercharged booster
So I have lots of new products to try, the Hydro Boost range seems pretty exciting and not something I’ve seen before. This was only my second award ceremony after the Blog awards in 2016 (funnily enough in the same place!) and it was interesting to experience it.
