Get a gorgeous 3D light reflecting highlight with MUAs new collection of holographic powders. Available in 5 shades; Rose Tinted, Aquatic Shine, Polarised Green, Ultra Violet and Solar Flare the colour spectrum is quite broad with colours ranging from green to pink.
For my review I’m trying out Solar Flare a subtle pink shade. What drew me to the highlighter was the iridescent shine that you can see in the pan. My favourite highlighter is Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold which is quite expensive so I was keen to see if a budget highlighter could do just as good a job.
Whilst the highlighter has a powdery consistency and does not look like it has the strongest of highlights, it does have a subtle shimmer that you can quite clearly see on my finger. When I swatched the highlighter on my arm however I didn’t notice much of a effect. When I applied the highlighter to my cheekbones the light reflecting effect was obvious and I love how it seem to add shape to my face. It does however seem quite flat if you look at it face on.
The longevity of the highlighter is excellent and by the evening the highlighter was still visible and had not faded at all. Considering the highlighter was only £3 this is a great budget buy that looks great and lasts all day without losing its effect. I know there are highlighters I can turn to when my favourite luxury buy runs out.
The highlighter is perfect for someone who wants a shimmer that is subtle and not in their face. It’s really good at adding definition to your face and can be layered for extra effect.
I give it 4/5
- Gives a lovely sheer highlight that really highlight cheekbones when the light catches it
- The highlight can be built up for a stronger effect
- Great budget price
- Lasts all day without losing its light reflecting effect
- The highlighter does look slightly flat looking head on
